Dr. Treon earned his Bachelor and Medical degrees from the University of Cincinnati. While studying at UC, he worked in the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office as an autopsy technician. After completing residency in Emergency Medicine and serving as Chief Resident at York Hospital, Pennsylvania, Dr. Treon returned to the Cincinnati area, settling in Clermont County. He has worked in the Emergency Department of several local hospitals as staff physician as well as Director of Emergency Medicine. Dr. Treon was appointed to an unexpired term in 2002 and has served as the elected Coroner of Clermont County since then. His leadership positions include Member-at-Large on the Board of Directors, Ohio State Coroner’s Association.
Dr. Treon has the unique first-hand experience of working in a major city morgue and understanding the post-mortem collection of evidence. His residency in Emergency Medicine lends itself well to the forensic aspects of death investigation. As Director of Emergency Medicine and work with the Ohio State Coroner’s Association, Dr. Treon has an administrative background to run a County Office. In his more than twenty-year role as Coroner, Dr. Treon has overseen the investigation of several thousands of cases.
